Today is light where news is concerned, but I did manage to dig up a few goodies. AMC interviewed many of the TWD actors about their characters and below are some of the highlights. We also have the first official look at some key art for The Walking Dead and finally some Fear The Walking Dead images, both gallery images and FTWD stills from the first episode.

The Actors on Their Characters:

Alanna Masterson on Tara’s LGBT Status:

“I really love telling Tara’s story. She’s very different from all the characters on the show. I think she has a different sensibility about this world. I’m happy to represent the LGBT community because this is real life. It’s a responsibility and I’m happy to have it.”

Chad L Coleman on the Change in Tyreese Since Karen’s Death:

“Her death awakened a sleeping giant. It woke the rage in him and he went through this journey where he found that rage was not who he is. It’s incredibly damaging and on the other side of all the rage is the love and compassion that is truly necessary to live. I think, in the end, that love and sensitivity just took him out. Or maybe it was like him wanting to return back to her.”

Christian Serratos on Rosita’s Back Story:

“I know what her family situation might have been. What I was told is that she came from a family of just men. She might have lost her mother and grew up with a bunch of brothers. I think that’s where she gets a lot of her knowledge, strength and capability. I think Abraham sees an equal in her. What you look for in a partner now is exponentially different from what it was when the world was normal. He sees that she is capable and strong and that’s attractive to him. The fact that she’s so willing and interested in helping his mission probably attracts him more.”

Danai Gurira on the Idea of Michonne Losing a Limb:

“If it’s about saving my life, yeah. If you lose a limb, you can figure it out. Hershel was okay before The Governor got to him. It’s doable. I’d rather do without a limb than lose my life.”

Lauren Cohen on Losing Hershel:

“Beth and Hershel are these pillars of light that are ripped from the group’s lives and you don’t understand why. It’s really hard to process the loss of these characters and we all get so close in these extreme situations together. As actors, we go through these big journeys and we are a family, no matter what, even when people leave the show.”

Lennie James on Comparisons Between Rick and Morgan:

“I very much do. You meet the two of them in the first episode and then Morgan goes in one direction and Rick in another. The difference is you follow Rick and you don’t follow Morgan, but each time I reappear, I have to fill in the gaps. With “Clear,” I had to be the person who had gone on the journey and be aware of why he’s in the state that he’s in now. You’re walking with Rick and every now and then, you bump into Morgan and realize there’s another journey going on in this world.”

Norman Reedus on if the Apocalypse had never happened:

“Well, his brother was kind of an a–hole and I think he was slowly turning into his brother. Merle even says that they had met up at that camp [where Rick was] to initially rob everyone before it all went south. I imagine Daryl would still be doing things like that, being up to no good. In Episode 412, “Still,” Daryl talks about running with his brother before the apocalypse”

Steven Yeun on Glenn’s Evolution from Season 1:

“He’s changed quite a bit, but the core values of who Glenn is are still very much there. After finding love, he realized a greater purpose and he stepped up to the plate in a lot of situations. He was put through a lot of emotional and stressful situations and he always came out positive. He’s encountered so many people who’ve shaped him into the person who he is.”

Fear The Walking Dead Images:

These images are a set of gallery images with many of the cast members in season one, followed by a series of stills for the first episode. You won’t see any zombies in them, but it has been mentioned that this season might look and feel zombie-light since it’s the beginning of the outbreak.
