It was announced today by Chandler Riggs (Carl on The Walking Dead) that despite auditioning for the coveted role of Spider-Man, it’s not in the cards for him. On his twitter he posted:

 

Riggs, only 15 years old, auditioned for the role, but apparently was told that he did not make the short list. According to insiders, that list includes the likes of Tom Holland (The Impossible) and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society).
Riggs might not have picked up this role, but based on his age and the things we have seen from him over the course of five seasons on The Walking Dead, I’m sure that there will be other roles for him in the future.
In other news, at the video game conference E3, it was announced by TellTale Games that a new installment for The Walking Dead video game will be released this fall. The game, The Walking Dead: Michonne – A TellTale Games Miniseries will explore Michonne’s story in the comics between the issues #126 and #139. The miniseries will feature three episodes and allow players to discover what led Michonne to stray from Rick and the group, and what eventually brought her back.

When creator, Robert Kirkman was asked why Michonne was his first choice for a character-specific miniseries he had this to say:
“In many ways, Michonne herself is a reflection of the world of The Walking Dead. She is brutal and cold on the outside, but deep beneath what is broken, she remains hopeful, trying to claw her way out of the darkness that surrounds her. In our effort to bring the world of the comic and the world of the Telltale series closer together, there is no greater character than Michonne to help bridge that gap.”
