Ride with Norman Reedus Coming to AMC in 2016

Norman Reedus spends much of his time playing Daryl Dixon on the AMC smash hit, The Walking Dead. When he’s not acting in the show or attending comic conventions (where he’s a huge fan favorite) Reedus is often found riding his motorcycle. This is one thing that Norman and Daryl have in common. Anyone watching season 6 has seen Dixon riding for the majority of the season thus far. Well now, that interest is becoming a new show for Norman Reedus.
In 2016, AMC is releasing Ride with Norman Reedus. While the title is tentative, the show is a go, for sure. The show will consist of six episodes that each last for one hour. Ride with Norman Reedus will include Reedus riding with a new companion each episode. Every ride will be in a different city and be headed to a new destination. Not only will viewers see various landscapes as Reedus travels the country, they will also learn about motorcycle culture, which is likely to be a big part of the show.
In a statement, Norman Reedus said, “I’m incredibly excited and thankful to AMC for giving me the opportunity to share a passion of mine with our fans, and hopefully a whole new audience.” Of the upcoming show he says, “I had a lot of fun filming and exploring, and I hope it shows.”
According to AMC, Ride with Norman Reedus will “celebrate some of the best and brightest collectors, mechanics and motorcycle craftsmen around the country.” Joel Stillerman, president of original programming for AMC said, “We love being the home of people’s passion projects, and there is nobody more passionate about motorcycles than Norman Reedus. He is an avid rider and aficionado who is deeply immersed in motorcycle culture. There is also nobody more fun to hang out with. This show will bring those two elements together for a weekly ride into the incredible world of motorcycles and the people who live and breathe them.”
Don’t worry about the fate of Daryl Dixon though just because of this new show. There is plenty of downtime each year to film Ride with Norman Reedus, so the addition of this new show does not mean that Daryl is going anywhere. At least, not yet.
