Josh McDermitt Talks Romance for Eugene

Josh McDermitt Talks Romance for Eugene

Eugene
When you think of any of the characters on The Walking Dead finding love, Eugene is probably one of the last ones that comes to mind. However, if you’ve had a chance to see “JSS” you might have changed your mind. When Eugene met the new doctor, Denise (Merritt Wever), sparks definitely flew. Both of them have an awkward chemistry to go with their awkward personalities.
When McDermitt was asked about Eugene’s possible involvement with Denise he had this to say:
“I think any time there’s a girl around I think there’s a good shot that Eugene is trying to ship himself in that direction. Eugene is a bit girl crazy, and I don’t think it matters who it is. He likes girls. I don’t want to spoil anything and say it’s definitely going to happen or it’s not going to happen, you’re just going to have to tune in and find out!”
It seems that Josh is a bit of a tease in the information that he likes (or is able) to give away. That’s okay though because fans aren’t going to have any problem tuning in to find out what happens between these two.
Denise
McDermitt was also asked what Eugene’s purpose is in Alexandria and in season six.
“Seeing people like Denise in last week’s episode where she kind of didn’t really have the confidence in her ability as a surgeon. She didn’t even finish school, she’s been rushed into this position to save Holly and to save someone’s life and she’s saying I just can’t do it instead of trying, and Eugene steps over and says you don’t want to be a coward, ‘I know.’ I think something like that certainly gives him confidence. And, until he gets more confident, until he feels that he’s a stronger member of the group, it’s going to be a battle for him. I think that’s kind of what his purpose is, to find out who he is, how he belongs and fits within this group and how he can contribute and move forward.”
What do you think of the idea of Eugene and Denise?
