Today is a day for videos and we have two of them. Both were taken at the recent Saturn Awards. Both videos give us some insight, from the creators and the acting side for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead.

Scott Gimple and Greg Nicotero Talk Season 6

Some Highlights from the Video include:

“In season one, ‘Night of the Living Dead‘ was sort of our holy grail. We were striving to make something as meaningful as that material, and I think that six years in, not only do we continue to do it, but we do it better. It gets harder every year, but we don’t back down. I feel like our skeletons are just stripped of every emotion because we try so hard to keep the show fresh and keep the show original.” – Nicotero
“We’re doing some really different things. In season 6, we are attacking stories in different ways. We’re playing with structure.” – Gimple
“What I love what we’re doing about the season premiere of this one is, it’s bold.” – Nicotero
“We want our audience to think and they get to put together the puzzle that we are presenting to them, knowing that by the end of the episode that they will have arrived at the conclusion that we want them to arrive at.” – Nicotero
“If Greg looks tired, it’s because of the things we’re doing, especially in these first three episodes. I’m really surprised he hasn’t killed me yet.” – Gimple

Andrew Lincoln Talks Rick & TWD

Some Highlights from the Andrew Lincoln Video include:

“There will be tensions between the two characters, definitely.” – on the bringing together of Rick and Morgan
“I think the writing and story is getting stronger and stronger. I’m thrilled. I thought the last season, certainly, for Rick’s journey was, some of the finest and most complex that I’ve had to attempt.” – on the direction season 6 is headed
“Scott and the writers team are just magnificent and as long as they keep pushing us in the direction that there doing, I think we’re going to open up the world in a way that we’ve never, well certainly the fans and certainly I’ve never experienced before.” – on the writing and the upcoming season
When asked what he’s a fan of, his response was “Peaky Blinders.” For those unaware, Blinders is a Netflix original and currently has 2 seasons streaming on Netflix.
“One of the great challenges of playing him is that he’s, you know, he’s one of these people that just keep pushing himself and finding new resolve and I think with Scott and the writers at the helm they keep finding intricate new ways to play him.” – on whether Rick is still fit to lead.
Lincoln goes on to state his excitement on episodes 1-6, which were the episodes that were shot at the time of the interview.
