Does this signal the end of Deanna’s reign and the beginning of Rick’s? Let’s face it. Rick needs to be fearless when it comes to his actions in the group. His people (Carl, Carol, and the others) often look to him to lead and go with his plans. A stronger leader equals a stronger group. In the comics, Deanna is actually Douglas. True to the books, Pete takes down his wife, and when that happens he goes off the rails. Will Deanna have the same fate in the TV series? The show deviates from the comics quite often, so only time will tell.
Could Negan be connected to Alexandria and when will he arrive?
This video provides an interesting spin on whether or not Negan could have been one of the three people that Deanna exiled (it would make sense, since Negan is anything but a team player). Based on the trajectory of the comics, it’s not impossible that Negan and the Saviors will appear before the end of Season 6. It seems like season 5 tackled about 20 issues over the season, so if Season 6 follows the same path, Negan should be introduced near the end of Season 6 or at the start of Season 7. Perhaps he will arrive in the finale, forcing us all to wait to find out what will happen? Either way, I’m looking forward to his arrival, as are many fans of the comics.
New Comic Covers!
Issue #144 will be released on July 8, 2015. It’s the final issue that goes with Volume 24: Life & Death. Rick takes up the cover on this one.
My favorite cover of the last few I mentioned has to be for Issue #145, which is coming out August 12, 2015. The issue “Blood for Blood” features a sword many of us know and love, with blood pooling down and around it. This issue will be the beginning of Volume 25.
